Meet KNB's Balisong Makers

The Bautista Brothers are renowned for being some of the best balisong makers in Taal, Batangas. Their family has been making balisongs in Taal for generations, starting with their father who began making balisongs at the young age of 15. Upon marrying their mother, this became their father's way of providing for their family. Of the 10 siblings, many of them learned the craft of making balisongs from their father which also became their way of providing for their own families.

The Bautista Brothers worked for many years with the late and beloved Mang Dado Ona, who was world-renown for his high-quality balisongs. Their brother in-law, the late Mang Teddy Agojo, was regarded as a highly-skilled balisong maker. Last, their "ninong" through marriage is Leo Rivera, whose balisong shop is well-known in Taal.

Kuya Vic Bautista (to the right) is KNB's primary balisong maker along with his two brothers, Kuya Poyeng and Kuya May. KNB is truly honored to be working with the brothers and their families in preserving our balisong culture.
