To revive and revolutionize the art, culture, and industry of the Batangas handmade balisong
Kultura Ng Balisong (KNB) is a non-profit organization that is based in both Makati, Metro Manila and Taal, Batangas.
For the past 30 years, founder Ron Cariño has been developing his passion for the balisong. Through exploration, he has been developing his own balisong style and deepening his practice.
With his extensive non-profit experience, Ron developed the KNB organization with the aim of preserving the culture and art of the Filipino hand-made balisong. KNB is the first recorded balisong system and non-profit in the world. With his vast experience with and understanding of the balisong, Ron is also developing other modalities including balisong as a form of therapy and meditation, balisong as a mindfulness and mental health tool, tactical balisong, and the balisong “sayaw” or dance.
We are not just preserving but re-introducing the balisong back to our community in new and fresh ways with the goal of sparking a renewed interest in our Filipino balisong.
We are making quality-made balisongs from Batangas available to different communities throughout the Philippines.
We are exploring and developing other modalities and ways of moving with the balisong including tactical, mindfulness, therapeutic, artistic, and flow.
100% of the proceeds go directly to our balisong makers to support their families and to contribute in building the industry. KNB does not make any profit from selling our balisongs.
We are also building a balisong community in the Philippines, U.S., and around the world through community and online events and engagement.
